Scotland Forever

Scotland is my homeland.
Therefore, how could I not love tartan.

Simple tartan skirt.

Stylish tartan dress.
Gorgeous tartan coat.
Funky party tartan dress.
Sleek Tartan dress.
My favorite tartan creation yet.
Great kilt in a feminin style.
Super comfy flannel shirts.
Tartan ball gowns.
The clash of ancient and modern styles.
Simple and sweet.
Love the way it hangs.

Blue Footed...Boobies?

Oh come on.
They're pretty awesome.
They've got style.

Of Crows

A group of crows is a murder of crows.

Free as a bird

Free as a bird.
Alot of my style is inspired by travel.
As a child of a scientist, I've travelled the globe.
My fashion sense reflects this.
This is another set of my favorite spreads from Teen Vogue.

Now that's a dress I'll have to sew.
And this one too!
South America and it's funny hats.
I think this lady looks a little pretentious.
Just a little...
I really like these broad belts over colourful frocks.
Now those are some bell bottoms.
And don't forget the satchel.
More cool satchels.
Sunflowers on her jean shorts.
Green socks.
Leather boots.
My favorite is the dress with the lama.
It just hangs so nicely.

Emma Watson

Alright so I'm also a MASSIVE Harry Potter fan.
I started reading the books when I was 5.
Since then they've always been a HUGE part of my life.
I read them. And re-read them. And re-read them. MANY times.
And I've explored every little detail of them.
When the 7th book came out. I already knew most of what would happen.
I knew where the locket was.
I knew who R.A.B. was.
That Wormtail would die.
Ect.
Anything that was linked to Harry Potter I jumped at.
So naturally, in that same pile of magazine's that first drew me into fashion,
When I saw the one with Hermione on the cover,
There was no stopping me examining it cover to cover.

This is my favorite of these.
I love the colours.
I love the dress.
I love the concept of the photo.
But what she's wearing is not my style.
Nor is this,
or this.
But this is GORGEOUS!
And I really like that headband.
And this is just funny.

My Favorite Bird

The Kingfisher
I read about Kingfishers in a book.
A book about a warrior woman.
The lady of Ch'iao Kuo.
Though I didn't think much of it at the time that I read it,
She had a dress
 that was inspired by Kingfishers.
It was her favorite.

How I Fell in Love with Fashion.

How I fell in love with fashion.
I was never much of a fashion inclined person in my youth.
My impression was that fashion was just about
following.
Following and being popular.
So I kept my back turned on fashion.
I'm not one to follow trends.
Don't call me a hipster.
Until this year I never knew what that even meant.
But then my eyes were opened
by my best friend.
Her sisters had a set for making paper dolls.
Crafty individuals that we were,
We wanted in on the fun too.
And the more we created the more we explored methods for making them.
Scraps of paper.
Doileys.
Candy wrappers.
And the more we sought for inspiration.
Her older sister had a set of Teen Vogue magazines from her year subscription.
It was only a matter of time before we got into them.
And I came across this.

Comfy warm wool sweaters and old leather hiking boots.
Plaid flannel shirts and Mrs. Weasley like dresses.
(the Weasley family was my dream family at the time)
Thick wool socks pulled up to the knees.
Long loose hair and floor length skirts.
A connection with nature.
Traveling the globe in a camper van just like my family does on its vacations.
And the spirit of freedom.
Not conformism.
My original impression of fashion shattered.
And I fell in love.

OLO!

This blog is sort of unique I suppose.
I have a bit of a thing for fashion. I have a bit of a thing for birds.
Enjoy.
